Digital twins of assets are ever-growing in civil engineering and can provide insight and innovation. In July 2021, the world’s first 3D printed steel bridge was installed over a canal in central Amsterdam. The Digital Twin of the bridge was developed and analysed to provide a greater insight into the bridge, maintaining it, and the potential for more ambitious projects in the future.
