There has never been such a need to design more efficient aero-engines. Yet the complexity is increasing all the time. This aerospace OEM used the analysis to dramatically reduce the number of variables (it can be over 300) to focus on the core model regions that can make the difference, reducing the time to improve the design and improving the efficiency. Secondarily, the analysis was used to identify unknown issues with manufactured turbine blades which were causing a loss of performance. Eventually the manufacturing process was refined by altering the tolerances to improve the performance of the products at the minimal cost.
